Thank you George, Gloria, Ivan and Barb

Last Friday we said goodbye to our cleaners who have been an outstanding part of our school community for many years.  Over their last couple of weeks the children were eager to spot George, Gloria, Ivan or Barb in the yard before or after school to say goodbye.  Some students even wrote persuasive pieces of writing about why we believe that they are the BEST cleaners ever!!!  These pieces were put into Thank You cards and presented to George and Gloria.
We wish them all the best!!

Active maths!

Frequently our students get active with concrete materials during our maths lessons.  Here are some happy mathematicians busy exploring.  You will see some of our students looking for symmetrical letters or symmetrical objects.  Some students are exploring area and perimeter with counters and paper animals.  We have looked at 2 and 3d shapes as well as regularly using MAB and counters to explore place value and counting accurately.

Our Grade 3 / 4 Inquiry:  Living and non-living things

Over recent weeks all of our classes have been looking further into our Inquiry at how animals are classified.
3/4V and 3/4R enjoyed a successful excursion to Serendip on Thursday with Ranger Vanessa assisting with the activities.
All of the children are to be complimented on their behavior and their application to the tasks.  Unfortunately 3/4C and 3/4T had to post-phone their visit due to inclement weather.  These grades are rescheduled to attend on Friday 13th May.
Here are some pictures of the visit to Serensip and some of the learning happening at school relating to our Inquiry.

Welcome Back

Welcome back for the beginning of Term 2.
We've enjoyed talking, writing and drawing about the holidays today.
Some of us even made fun scenes using our Play-doh.

Perfect Attendance

Congratulations to all of these Grade 3 and 4 students who celebrated 100% attendance in Term 1!
They should be so proud of themselves!
Next term we hope to see the size of this group increase.  We always encourage all students to attend school every day.

Happy participants

Congratulations to all of the students across all four of our grades who participated in the Walkathon, the Cross Country, BluEarth activities, the Baseball and Netball clinics in Term 1. Have a look at our website for more photos.

Next term we look forward to more energetic activities including welcoming visiting BluEarth coaches, Athletics and a Serendip outing.  Stay tuned for more information.

 Exceptional Brag Tag Boasters

Congratulations to these students from 3/4T who accumulated  an  exceptional number of Brag Tags in Term 1.  This is an initiative that 3/4T are trialing and Mrs Jackson was delighted to share their successes!
